Eat This “Cousin Of The Cabbage” And Be A Better, Healthier, Younger Looking You!

We’ve all heard it growing up, “eat your vegetables”. Back then, we didn’t truly understand why veggies will make you “big and strong,” but as adults we should have a better understanding as to why healthy nutrition is key to being healthy and looking healthy. Vegetables are not as satisfying as french fries, or chocolate but one of my personal favorites is delicious and very beneficial for your body and skin: BRUSSEL SPROUTS!

This is one vegetable you should definitely be adding to your diet. Brussels sprouts are actually in the cabbage family and you should give them a chance because they are among the healthiest vegetables and foods we can eat.

Brussels sprouts are good for your skin and promote healthy eyes. They detoxify your body, and promote healthy colon and immune function, which also helps your skin look healthy and fresh. If your immune and digestive system is unhealthy, you may look older, more tired and just run down. If you are healthy on the inside, it will show on the outside.

Brussels sprouts are full of antioxidants and are strongly anti-inflammatory. They are a good source of fiber, iron, and vitamin, A,C and B6, and the amount of protein they provide is about twice the value found in most vegetables. Protein and these nutrients are important for rebuilding damaged skin by helping synthesize collagen. Not to mention Brussels sprouts are a cancer fighting vegetable. So, eat Brussels sprouts as a side dish or as apart of a low calorie meal to help manage your weight (careful not to overcook) ENJOY!

One of my favorite quick and easy recipes:2 pounds Brussels sprouts, cleaned and boiled in salt water for 3 minutes. Then strain, cool and cut the Brussels spouts in half. Next, toss with olive oil, seasoned rice vinegar, and 20 drops of Worcestershire sauce. Then add 1 teaspoon of whole grain Dijon mustard with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. A small amount of candied walnuts will add some crunch and sweetness.
